ATHLETES & ENTERTAINERS

Professional athletics and the entertainment industry are among the most unique career paths in the world, often involving an unorthodox income structure and unpredictability. We provide tools and resources to help athletes and entertainers avoid financial distress by formulating a strategy that prepares clients for life after the career.

Why do professional athletes need better financial education?

The truth of financial struggles among professional athletes is alarming. Despite their high salaries and luxurious lifestyles, a considerable number of athletes are confronted with financial difficulties, even bankruptcy, after their careers have run their course. According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, 78% of NFL players find themselves bankrupt or under financial stress within two years of retirement. A 2015 ESPN report unveiled that 60% of NBA players also end up broke within five years of leaving the league. The roll call of athletes who have faced financial ruin is extensive and varied, encompassing both male and female athletes across different sports.
